• Preparation: Ensure the thyroid shield is clean and in good condition. Check for any visible damage or wear.

• Fitting: Place the collar around the patient’s neck, ensuring it comfortably fits just below the chin and covers the thyroid gland area.

• Adjusting: Adjust the collar to ensure a snug fit without causing discomfort. The shield should sit securely in place.

• Securing: Fasten any straps or closures provided to keep the shield in position during the procedure.

• Procedure: Confirm that the shield is properly positioned before starting any radiographic or dental procedures to ensure optimal protection.
