• Preparation: Ensure that the tooth requiring the crown is appropriately prepared. This may involve removing any decayed or damaged tooth structure and creating a suitable tooth shape for crown placement.
• Crown Selection: Choose the appropriate size of the stainless steel crown that matches the dimensions of the prepared tooth. Crown selection is critical for a proper fit.
• Crown Contouring: Examine the crown to ensure it has the correct anatomical contour for the specific molar it will cover. Minimal adjustment should be needed to achieve a natural fit.
• Crown Crimping: Check the crown's pre-crimped cervical margin for retention. This helps secure the crown in place during placement.
• Cementation: Apply a dental cement that is compatible with stainless steel crowns to the prepared tooth and the inside of the crown.
